The Lead Instructors hold CTILLs (Certificate of Teaching in the Long Life Learning Sector) and Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualifications. These are the requirements put in place between the HSE and Skills for Health. For more Information on this please visit;  Skills For Health Link

Do not be tricked into believing you can achieve a formal First Aid qualification On-Line as this is defined as blended learning, the HSE has just released information stating that they will be introducing and accepting blended learning, the exact information that can be covered via blended learning has not yet been released.

First Aid at Work

It is a requirement of the Health & Safety law that employers should provide a safe and healthy environment for their employees. If the assessment of First Aid needs highlights the need for a qualified First Aider’s, then this Level 3 First Aid at Work will provide you with suitable, highly trained personnel.

This comprehensive three-day course covers a wide range of First Aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with an emergency situation with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way. In addition, this course will include any protocol changes that may have arisen since their last training course.

This course will give the participants a qualification to the highest level of First Aid, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

Basic Life Support
This is a short course in Basic Life Support and is ideal for those looking to gain basic first aid knowledge and skills or indeed update some of the skills that fade over time. It is particularly suitable for healthcare professionals for the purpose of Continual Professional Development (CPD), including: Dental practitioners, Dental care professionals, Nurses and other healthcare professionals. The aim of the course is to enable all students to deal with an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally, and how to deal with an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally.

Emergency Paediatric First Aid
This one-day Emergency Paediatric First Aid course has been designed for those who have an interest in child and infant basic life support. If you have a professional interest, i.e. you are a child-minder or school teacher, etc, then this course partly fulfils the requirements of Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage require you to have 12 hours of paediatric first aid training, so the 2-Day Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid would be required to fulfil their requirements. This 6 hour qualification also makes up the first half of the 12-hour course.

Appointed Person
Where an employer’s assessment of First Aid needs identifies that a First Aider or Emergency First Aider is not necessary, the minimum requirement on an employer is to appoint a person (Appointed Person) to take charge of the First Aid arrangements, including looking after equipment and facilities, and calling the emergency services when required. This was effective from 1st October 2009.

I've done numerous Emergency First Aid At Work courses with the likes of St John's Ambulance, and The Red Cross, and have always found them informative but not necessarily memorable.
Having Kaill Training visit us this week has been brilliant though! The course leader David had a great sense of humour, which kept us all engaged and focused, while having the answer for every question we threw at him. Plenty of use of visual aids, pictures, videos, props and handouts really helped break the PowerPoint slide show up a bit.
Those of us on the 3 day course got the most from this, with examples of situations to do with our own working environment. The real icing on the cake was getting us to mock up full on emergency scenarios to do with our occupation for each other to resolve.
Lots of fun and cheaper than most other courses. With the added perks of personalisation and they even come to your workplace.
I will be using Kaill Training for all my team from now on.
